Ritsuka can remember very little from before he was ten years old, and is often worried that he’ll lose what memories he has. If his mother is to be believed, his personality underwent a great change; however, she cannot always tell what is and is not real, and in fact believes that Ritsuka is not her son, but an imposter. She often harms Ritsuka, and at times this has been due to her believing she was protecting him. While Ritsuka worries about her, at times he has been in danger of serious injury. When Seimei was at home, he would protect Ritsuka, and his being home would also alleviate their mother’s belief that she would ‘lose’ her other son. However, when he was away for even brief periods of time, she would be overtaken by her fears and delusions again. Ritsuka’s father was of no help; his long hours at work meant he was typically absent, and the rare times when he was home he preferred to ignore his wife’s actions altogether. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
